Barn Christmas Party

Hi Everyone!

We have scheduled the Cedar Hill Christmas party for Saturday Night December 13th!

Get ready for great potluck dishes, gift exchange, games and tall stories.  This year will be a lot of fun as we have a ton of fun new faces in the group.

We have investigated some new places to have the party, but the jury is still out on the final location.  Wherever it is, plan on having a great time and mark your calendar now!

Cedar Hill Update #3

Posted on November 7, 2008 at 6:11 PM

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know a few things:

1) We are excited to now offer partial and self-care boarding options in addition to full care - so if that fits your needs better and you want to join in the fun - let us know.

2) We have a number of events in the works for the Fall and Winter.  These will include clinics, group lessons and group rides as well as social events.  We will be hosting a 4-H clinic this weekend, with a mini-slumber party.  Stand by for details on the future events.

3) We are looking at the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting.  This is a very action-packed and exciting event.  If you have any interest in this let us know.  It involves two of Mike's favorite things - riding fast and shooting. We are looking at hosting a clinic and attending some competitions (there are several in Washington and Oregon).  Everything that we learn we are willing and excited to share - so let us know if you are interested. http://www.cowboymountedshooting.com/

That's it for now.

Broomstick Polo Tournament

Wow! What an Awesome Day!!!

Not only was this a fun event - it is a great training tool.

This was a great opportunity do something different with your horse.  As a training tool, it breaks up the monotony and stimulates the mind (for you and your horse).  It is an activity that requires you and your horse to communicate and even be brave.   Most of all it is a great way to have fun - which is essential to horsemanship - and it was a great time to meet new people and make new friends.
We had a great turn-out and lots of fun!  The kids all got ribbons and goodie bags. We counted over 50 people at one point and we apologize to those who we did not get to say hi to.  We are not sure how many people exactly came however, we know that the crowd demolished 50 - 1/2 lb Cheese Burgers (that's right 1/2 pound) and jumbo hot dogs as well as 2 whole barbequed salmon (which were 18-20 lbs EACH when Mike's buddy caught them the day before).  It was a great day!!

The Teams (grown up division)
"Team Man Power"- Randy, Tony, Mike, and Brett
"Team Teen Pony Power"- Brittany G., Christi G, Maddison, and Erica
"Team  Big Cheaters(really)"- Sherie, Crystal, Christy B., Tammy T.
"Team Cocomotion"- Coco, Steven, Tony, and Mike
"Team Smokin' Brooms"- Sherie, Nedda, Erica, and Randy

The bottom line is, it was an awesome time. We would love to do it again. Keep your eyes peeled for new updates and other upcoming Cedar Hill Events :)

Cedar Hill Update 1

Posted on September 15, 2008 at 6:12 PM

Hey everyone!

So as you can see we are in the process of making our first website! Its very exciting for us. However the website is still under construction so please be patient. We're hoping that maybe this blog area will keep people updated on things happening or changing with Cedar Hill. We have recently moved facilities and are at a wonderful place called Northwest Equestrian Center in Rainier, WA. Its a fantastic place that's very inviting and a friendly atmosphere. An event that is coming up is Cedar Hill's first Broomstick Polo Tournament Open House and Barbeque. Its surely going to be an exciting and fun time. But watch out for the girl with the little white pony. She's deadly.  Everyone is welcome whether you are a client, friend, or just interested in checking out our place. It will be at Northwest Equestrian Center on September 27 at about 3:00 pm is when the tournament will start. Sure to be exciting! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
